ORLANDO, FL – A man is facing charges in connection with a crash that killed a teenage bicycle rider in Orlando, authorities said.
According to WESH, 23-year-old Jared Ryan Prochazka of Orlando was arrested on Sunday for the December incident.
The Florida Highway Patrol said Prochazka was driving a pickup truck on Montello Drive when he hit a 13-year-old boy riding a bicycle. Prochazka was driving west in the wrong lane at the time of the accident, according to investigators. He allegedly fled the scene without stopping.
The boy was pronounced dead after being transported to Arnold Palmer Hospital. Prochazka now is charged with vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of a crash involving death.
