LAKE CO., FL – A single-vehicle crash in Lake County last night claimed the life of a teen driver and left four others injured.
According to a report by WXJT, the accident occurred near the intersection of County Road 437 and Plymouth Hollow Circle at about 10:20 p.m.
Police say the 16-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle and skidded into a light pole. The vehicle then crashed through hedges before coming to rest against a tree nearby.
The driver, whose identity is being withheld, was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he died a short time later.
The four other occupants, ranging in age from 11-15, were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
