Semi-truck collision on I-75 south leaves both drivers injured

BUSHNELL, FL – Two truck drivers were injured when their vehicles collided in Sumter County Friday morning, according to WKMG.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the semi-trucks were both going south on Interstate 75 in Bushnell when the incident occurred at about 8:48 a.m.

As one truck moved from the center lane to the outside lane near mile marker 313, it hit the back of the trailer being towed by the other truck.

The first semi jackknifed across two lanes, and the driver was flown to an area hospital with serious injuries.  The driver of the other semi sustained minor injuries.

The southbound lanes of I-75 were closed for several hours for the accident to be cleared and investigated.
