ORLANDO, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred in Orlando Saturday night.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, a 37-year-old woman was trying to walk across International Drive near Sand Lake Road at about 8 p.m. when she was hit by a Honda Civic going north on I Drive.
The victim, a resident of Greencastle, Indiana, was transported to Dr. Phillips Hospital. She died there of her injuries.
The FHP said the woman was in a pedestrian crosswalk at the time but did not yield to the car. The 19-year-old man who was driving the Civic was going through the crosswalk with a green light, according to investigators.
