Passenger in SUV dies after collision at Orange County intersection

ORANGE COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said one person was killed and another seriously injured in a collision in Orange County early Sunday morning.

According to WKMG, the incident took place in the area of Beggs Road and Rose Avenue at about 3:20 a.m. The FHP said a man was driving an SUV westbound when it collided with a sedan going north on Rose Avenue.

A passenger in the SUV, a 32-year-old woman from St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, died after being taken to Advent Health South. The SUV driver, a 37-year-old Sanford man, was seriously injured and transported to the same hospital.

The sedan driver, a 22-year-old man from Orlando, sustained minor injuries.  Investigators were trying to determine which driver had the right of way when the accident occurred.
