Orlando woman dies following rollover car accident on I-95

MELBOURNE, FL – A rollover car accident on Interstate 95 in Melbourne left one person dead and two others injured, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

According to WESH, the incident occurred early Saturday morning on I-95 at mile marker 189 in Melbourne near the Pineda Causeway at about 5:30 a.m.

State troopers said a 32-year-old Orlando woman lost control of her vehicle while driving northbound and struck a guardrail, causing the vehicle to overturn.

Another driver headed southbound pulled over and tried to help, but a third vehicle going northbound crashed into the woman’s car.

She was ejected from the car and was transported to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead.  The two men driving the other vehicles were hospitalized with minor injuries.

The FHP is investigating the wreck, which shut down the inside and center northbound lanes on I-95.
