ORLANDO, FL – A driver was killed in a collision between a car and a dump truck in Orlando Monday evening, authorities said.
According to WFTV, the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene in the area of Clarcona Ocoee Road and North Orange Blossom Trail after the incident was reported shortly before 5:30 p.m.
The FHP said a 2010 Infiniti and a 2006 Mack dump truck collided at the intersection, and the driver of the Infiniti was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the car was critically injured and was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center. The two victims were not immediately identified.
A 39-year-old Orlando man who was driving the dump truck was not seriously hurt and remained at the scene.
Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the wreck, which shut down Clarcona Ocoee Road between Long Road and Orange Blossom Trail.
