SUMTER COUNTY, FL – An accident on Interstate 75 in Sumter County Thursday morning left a motorcycle rider dead, according to WKMG.
The Florida Highway Patrol said it happened as the motorcyclist was headed south on I-75 behind another vehicle that was towing a trailer. A tire fell off the trailer and landed in the path of the motorcycle, causing it to overturn.
The 55-year-old motorcyclist was thrown from the bike and was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s name was not released.
The FHP said the driver of the other vehicle, 32-year-old Quesada Fonseca, will face charges for not having a valid driver’s license.
