Man, woman killed in 2-vehicle crash on State Road 60 in Osceola County

OSCEOLA COUNTY, FL – State troopers said a driver and passenger died after their vehicle was involved in a collision in Osceola County Wednesday morning.

According to the Leesburg-News, the incident happened on State Road 60 at 9:22 a.m.  The Florida Highway Patrol said a man was driving a Hyundai Elantra when he tried to pass a semi-truck and entered the path of a Ford F-150 pickup truck going in the opposite direction, causing a collision.

The 63-year-old Hyundai driver and his 62-year-old female passenger were killed in the wreck. Both were from Fort Pierce.  The driver of the pickup, a 36-year-old Groveland man, and his passenger, a 37-year-old St. Petersburg man, sustained minor injuries.

State Road 60 was shut down in both directions near the scene for the crash investigation.
