Man killed when motorcycle collides with car in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said a motorcycle rider died in an accident in the area of Goldenrod Road and Timber River Circle in Orlando Sunday afternoon.

According to WESH, the incident occurred when the driver of a Kia Optima made a left turn from a lane that only allowed right turns on Timber River Circle.

The motorcyclist, who was going north on Goldenrod Road, was hit by the Kia at about 12:30 p.m. The male motorcyclist was thrown from the bike and died later at Advent Health.  His name was not released. The Kia driver, a 51-year-old woman, was not injured and remained at the scene after the crash.

Goldenrod Road was closed off to northbound traffic for the accident investigation.
