VOLUSIA COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said a man died after he was apparently struck by two separate vehicles in Volusia County early Sunday morning.
According to WKMG, the victim was a 48-year-old man from Osteen who was found dead in the area of Lemon Bluff Road and State Route 415. The FHP believes the man had been struck initially by one vehicle and was lying in the roadway at about 3:40 a.m. when a 58-year-old DeBary man driving another vehicle swerved but was unable to avoid hitting him.
The name of the fatally injured pedestrian has not yet been released. State troopers are investigating the incident and trying to find out any additional details about the first vehicle that hit the man.
