64-year-old pedestrian dies after being hit by SUV in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol was at the scene of a fatal pedestrian accident in Orange County on Monday morning.

WKMG reports the incident took place in the vicinity of Silver Star Road and Hiawassee Road at about 6:30 a.m. Investigators determined that a pedestrian was walking across Silver Star Road from north to south but did not notice a Ford SUV in the outside travel lane, and entered the path of the vehicle.

The SUV driver was not able to stop in time and hit the man. The pedestrian, a 64-year-old man from Orlando, was pronounced dead after being transported to Orlando Health.

The 60-year-old man who was driving the SUV was not injured.
