FLAGLER COUNTY, FL – Two motorcycle riders died and two others were injured after an accident in Flagler County on Tuesday night, WKMG reports.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the four motorcyclists were riding north on Interstate 95 at about 9:35 p.m. when they collided with each other and all four were ejected onto the roadway.
One of the riders, a 29-year-old man, was struck by an SUV. That man and a 22-year-old woman were both pronounced dead at the scene. The other two motorcyclists, both men, were hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening. All four riders were from Jacksonville. Troopers said they were all wearing helmets.
The driver of the SUV, a 48-year-old Jacksonville woman, and her 16-year-old passenger were not injured.
The incident shut down the northbound lanes of I-95 for about six hours.
