14-year-old struck by train while walking on tracks in Edgewater

EDGEWATER, FL – Police in Edgewater said a 14-year-old girl was struck by a train on Monday afternoon, according to WKMG.

Investigators said the teenager was walking south on the tracks near the 2700 block of Hibiscus Drive just before 4 p.m. when she was hit by a train headed in the same direction.

The impact sent the victim into a wooded area where she was located by responding officers.  She was flown to Halifax Medical Center, where she was listed in critical condition.
