1 dead, 1 injured in car accident at Orlando intersection

ORLANDO, FL – Authorities in Orlando responded to the scene of a fatal two-vehicle crash on Tuesday afternoon.

The Orlando Police Department tweeted that the accident occurred at the intersection of John Young Parkway and Shader Road at about 3 p.m.  One person was pronounced dead at the scene by firefighters. Another person was hospitalized in stable condition.

Westbound lanes of Shader Road were blocked at Orange Blossom Trail after the crash, and the northbound lanes of John Young Parkway were shut down at Silver Star Road.  Traffic was diverted onto Princeton Street.
